I have come a long way from my middle school fashion days of crazy tights and mixed prints. (I’ve never met a mix I couldn’t match!) So far, that I was voted best dressed in high school! (My 5 seconds of fame!!) Fashion and my personal style has always been my favorite “challenge” – I enjoy trying to find new and exciting trends and pushing myself to step outside of the box with my wardrobe choices. However, while my fashion sense has evolved throughout high school, my time at The University of Alabama, living in New York, and “post-grad life”, I believe my style has always stayed feminine with a chic edge. Depending on the day, I’ll usually choose a dress over jeans and a t-shirt, but sneakers over a pair of heels.
Vera Wang said, “I want people to see the dress, but focus on the woman”. So while the clothes are beautiful, it’s how the clothes make you feel and show you. Ever since my mom passed the torch over and I was able to start choosing my own outfits for school, etc., I’ve used clothes as a way to represent my personality. Our style is who we are and who we were and will continuously evolve as we are inspired throughout the years. Here’s hoping that jean jackets and long flowing dresses will never go out of style!
