October 2019 Recap

October 2019 Recap

Here’s a little October recap! Sharing what I did, what I bought, and a few favorites here and there.

HIGHLIGHTS

October was such a crazy month!! In addition to celebrating Kelsey at her wedding shower, my girl Laura visiting, and family coming in to town, I celebrated Halloween with HILLOWEEN! I had been waiting for this for so long and shared some really fun costumes! Check out my recap of the series here!

We also celebrated my brother in law getting inducted into the South Carolina Track & Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame! Such an amazing accomplishment!!

WHAT I BOUGHT

The new Atlantic Pacific x Halogen collection came out this month and I may have bought… well… everything! Linking a few of my favorites below!

WHAT I WATCHED

Looking for Alaska: I have to admit… I was a little disappointed by this show. There was nothing wrong with it, but Looking for Alaska is like one of the only books I’ve ever read haha (I hate reading but that’s another story) so I had real high hopes for this show! Again, nothing was wrong with it, the story, or the actors, I just wanted more!

The Inventor: Out For Blood In Silicon Valley: This was recommended by some of my friends and now I couldn’t recommend it more! This story is wild y’all. I mean how did I not know about this?! Definitely worth a watch!!

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO

Lose You To Love Me by Selena Gomez

EXPLORING CHARLESTON

Delaney Oyster House: This new spot hosted my friend, Lindsay, and I for a beautiful dinner! While I don’t eat seafood, the atmosphere was amazing and my dinner was super yummy! And Lindsay was raving over the oysters she ordered!

Herd Provisions: Another new restaurant here in Charleston is Herd Provisions! They totally exceeded my expectations! I ordered their new french toast and it was covered in syrup and chocolate – yep, it was as amazing as it sounds! I also, of course, had to get something salty with my sweet so I ordered a side of their fries! Everything was so so good and can’t wait to go back here again soon!

Sounds like you had such a busy and fun month! I haven’t read or watched looking for alaska, but I can empathize with the disappointment of a book you love translating poorly to the screen.

Sounds like you had one busy and exciting October. I bet November will be just as spectacular. With how much you did for Hilloween, I’m thrilled to see what you’ll bring to your blog for the Thanksgiving and Christmas season! I’ve debated about watching Looking for Alaska because I loved the book so much – and because the other John Green books-turned-movies were so good, but a TV show confused me a little haha. But now I’m curious based off your mini review, so I’ll have to give it a try. Also, great taste with the music for the month! Selena is releasing some emotional bangers!
