I don’t want to speak too soon, but 2018, I’m liking you so far. We’ve got Alabama in the National Championship (roll tide) and that’s about all I need in a great year! But on a serious note, as New Year’s Eve was approaching and I was reflecting on 2017, I was pleased with my year, but felt like I could’ve done more, which is the most unsatisfying feeling. So now as I sit here, 4 days into 2018, I’m planning my goals, New Year’s resolutions, plans, whatever you want to call them, for the new year. Some I will achieve, some I may not, but I hope to at least strive to make 2018 my best year yet! Here are just a few:
Create a schedule and stick to it: I truly see a difference in myself when I have a schedule – wake up, do a small workout, make breakfast, go to work, and so on. In the past, I’ve noticed that whenever I go on vacation or have a visitor, I completely lose sight of my schedule. I know it’s okay to relax every now and then, but I need to learn how to get back on track.
Travel more: This past year, I traveled to Cuba – a rather unique trip for my family. It was an incredible learning experience and truly inspired me to explore these unique places I’ve never been to.
Step outside my comfort zone: I’ve felt myself doing this recently with my fashion choices and have been excited with some of the results! Now I want to take this and apply it to my day-to-day lifestyle and try new things – new foods, hobbies, learn something new (I purchased a calligraphy book!), etc.
Expand/Grow my blog: We are starting year two of this little project I started in a Starbucks way back when and I won’t lie, it has become a much larger commitment than I had expected. Going to events, meeting with photographers, emails, writing blog posts – it is a huge time commitment. I’m not complaining – I’m still having so much fun! But along with creating my schedule, I need to set aside time specifically for blogging.
I have a few other personal goals that I’ve written down for myself and hope to achieve. It’s a long list, but I think it’s going to be a great year! 2018 don’t let me down!
