Going Plastic-Free with Spring & Vine
One of my biggest New Year’s resolutions for the year is to try to use less plastic in my day-to-day life. If you know me personally, you know that I am very passionate about our environment. Our awful mass use of plastic has been on my mind for a while now and I recently began to reevaluate all the products I purchase simply out of habit that use loads of plastic. At the moment, a completely plastic-free-life seems impossible. However, I try to live by the saying, “We don’t need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly. We need millions of people doing it imperfectly.” (Ask my mom! It’s been my motto for months now!) There are plenty of baby steps you can take to do your part, like using a water bottle daily or using sustainable beauty products like Spring and Vine.
When Spring & Vine reached out to partner together, I jumped at the chance. Yes, I am conscious of how much plastic I consume, but I also pledged to use only cruelty-free and vegan beauty products years ago. I have to say, vegan shampoo is one of the hardest products to find at a reasonable price, which has made Spring & Vine a dream product for this girl. These adorable little shampoo bars are just as effective as shampoo bottles while also made with only clean, easy-to-understand ingredients and no scary chemicals. Plus, they are the perfect travel size for all of your 2020 adventures. I’ll be flying somewhere fun at the end of the month and will definitely be bringing one of these along for the ride. How nice to not have to worry if your shampoo will leak everywhere into your suitcase?!
If you’re like me and are thinking, “Shampoo bar? How the heck does that work?” Have no fear. I will admit, using the bar did take some getting used to. After all, we’ve all been using shampoo bottles for our entire lives! It’s second nature at this point. Spring & Vine thankfully has made it easy for us with these simple instructions right on the box: “Wet hair and scalp. Swipe on hair and between hands to create lather. Massage into hair and scalp. Rinse clean. Finally, enjoy the rest of your bubble bath and glass of champagne.” (I may or may not have added that last bit.) Now move over liquid shampoo. Shampoo bars and Spring & Vine are where it’s at.

I need to check these out! I’m the same as you – I’m trying to really be better about environmental waste and the plastic I’m using. My biggest downfall is coffee cups (I admit I never remember a reusable tumbler) so I’m trying to find other ways that I can help reduce waste and these shampoo bars sound perfect!! I think I’m going to try the lavender and orange blossom scent!

These sound fascinating! I was worried I’d be allergic to the ingredients, because most “clean” or “healthier” options include ingredients I can’t use – but thankfully the only one I can’t use is the oatmeal one (darn oat allergy) – and I’m actually fascinated with the mint and tea tree one! I gotta try these for myself soon!

This is perfect. More people need to have your mindset. I am such an advocate for helping to save the environment any possible way we can; especially with recycling. The more people I talk to the more I find out they either don’t recycle AT ALL or they’re doing it completely wrong!
