I was so excited to return to Wild Dunes Resort last month and this time with one of my favorite blogger gals Laura of Louella Reese! I had been in need of a relaxing vacation and how nice that Wild Dunes is just a 45-minute drive from where I live – the perfect staycation. The weather was beautiful and the resort was so inviting – if only we could’ve stayed just a little bit longer!!
WHERE WE STAYED
Laura and I stayed just steps from the beach at the beautiful Boardwalk Inn. This was my second visit to The Boardwalk Inn and not only was it a completely different experience from the first but, again, they did not disappoint. Along with the super comfy beds and lovely decor, the hotel also has an adults only pool which is right up my alley on a relaxing getaway!
You can also stay at The Village at Wild Dunes or choose from various different condos, cottages, or beach house rentals. All of which are just minutes from the beach!

WHERE WE ATE
Right in The Boardwalk Inn is a fabulous restaurant called Coastal Provisions where we dined at for lunch and dinner. I had fried green tomatoes for lunch and for dinner asparagus and mac and cheese – the weirdest combo I know but it’s two of my favorite foods! While the menu is generous with seafood and meat, the staff was accommodating for my vegetarian needs – always a plus in my book! There’s also a beachside burger joint, laid-back smokehouse, and market and deli. You can view all of Wild Dunes dining options here!
WHAT WE DID
The best part of Wild Dunes, in my opinion, is the boardwalk that is lined with bright and colorful houses. I distinctly remember running up and down here as a kid whenever we would come and visit. There’s a surf shop and an ice cream shop plus two additional pools right by the beach. This is where our family was 24/7.
One of my favorite parts of our stay was, of course, lounging by the pool. We had our own private cabana complete with poolside service that made us feel like queens! We indulged in lunch – with french fries, duh – and frosés and sangria.

Of course, our trip would not have been complete without a sunrise viewing on the beach. It was honestly one of the best I had ever seen! I highly recommend getting up at 6 AM (ouch, I know!) to see it. Definitely worth it. And then you can just crawl back into bed afterward like we did!
