Charleston sure has a way of charming everyone she meets! I’ve yet to find a place in this little town that hasn’t taken my breath away. The next stop on my list was the gorgeous Drayton Hall. The beautiful and iconic estate was built in 1738 and did not fall short of my expectations. It was so fun twirling around in front of this home – I felt like I was taking a step back in time!
Drayton Hall is also the oldest preserved plantation house in America still open to the public. The house is actually in such great condition and has never been renovated – all of the original materials still remain. The land stretches for miles and it is the perfect place to be on a beautiful day! If you are visiting Charleston or if you live here and have yet to visit, definitely make Drayton Hall a priority and learn a little bit about Charleston’s rich history!
