December Recap

Here’s a little December recap! Sharing what I did, new restaurants I tried, and a few favorites here and there.

HIGHLIGHTS

We celebrated Christmas and my whole family came to visit for a reunion! The holidays included a whole lot of food, game nights, and Christmas movies. It was nice to have some time away to unplug, relax, and prepare for the new year.

Alabama advanced to the National Championship! In December, we played Georgia in the SEC Championship and Oklahoma in the Playoffs and won both games. They were such great games and I’m not sure how I’m going to make it through another Clemson vs. Alabama game! It’s going to be a stressful matchup and fingers crossed we pull out another win.

WHAT I BOUGHT

If you don’t already know, I’ve been living at home with my parents since I moved to Charleston to save some money. I’m hoping to find my own place in the beginning of 2019. Therefore, I’ve been on the hunt for some new pieces for my new home! My favorite places to shop for home decor are Anthropologie and H&M (believe it or not! They have a great home decor section).

WHAT I WATCHED

Birdbox: This movie is so good y’all. I’m sure you’ve seen the endless Sandra Bullock blindfold memes all over Facebook, so you must watch ASAP! It’s a Netflix original movie where a mysterious creature drives people to commit suicide. The movie definitely reminded me lots of A Quiet Place vibes, but was still really good and will be watched again!

Mary Poppins Returns: My mom and I were so excited about the new Mary Poppins movie! The first movie is one of her favorites! I expected it to be a remake and for them to use the same songs, but it’s a sequel with all new music and a new plot. I give it an A+ and definitely recommend it! The costumes and performances were amazing!

You: My friend, Kelsey, has been telling me I need to watch this for so long. I noticed this past week it was added to Netflix, so it was time. I’m halfway through the season now and it is a total binger. I didn’t want to stop watching and before I knew it, it was 2am! There are so many twists and turns and I have no idea how it’s going to end.

EXPLORING CHARLESTON

Babas on Cannon: My friend, Andrea, and I tried out the new Babas and we loved it! I got the grilled cheese and it was just what I needed on a cold day. Can’t wait to try more from this place!

Zero George: The Tastemakers group visited Zero George’s restaurant to try out their happy hour menu! I had previously been to Zero George and instantly fell in love with the beautiful space. If you are ever visiting Charleston, definitely check it out if you need a hotel!

Candlefish candle making class: Earlier in the month, I went to a candle making class with Candlefish and Show Me Your Mumu! This has been on my list for a long time now and it was such a great time! The class was so easy and my candles turned out amazing!

Barre South: I started working with Barre South this month! I had only been to one class prior to this so I was very excited to try it out. It’s such a great work out and hopefully I can keep it up in 2019.
