August Recap
Here’s a little August recap! Sharing what I did, where I went, and a few favorites here and there.
HIGHLIGHTS
We celebrated my mom’s 60th birthday!! It was so fun treating her (because she deserves it!) and spending time with the whole family! My dad hired a private chef to come to our house and cook for the fam. It was so cool and, of course, the food was to die for!
WHERE I WENT
During a week in August, I went to Atlanta, Georgia for a Jonas Brothers concert! Two days later, I drove to Raleigh, North Carolina for another Jonas Brothers concert. I then went to Barnsley Resort right outside of Atlanta for my second Blog Societies Conference!! And once again, I learned SO much. I love this conference y’all and can’t recommend it more for bloggers who are looking to improve their business! Check out my full recap here!
WHAT I BOUGHT
I’ve been dying to buy this Win Win tee by Unfortunate Portraits for so long and finally took the plunge this month!
I also made my first ever SHEIN purchase this month. After hearing so many great things about the company and resisting for so long, I decided to try it out. I was able to buy 5 dresses for about $130 which was great! But I have to admit, the quality was just not there for me. I only loved about two of the dresses and the others were meh. I may try again but at the moment, I’m not wasting my money. (I’m linking the two dresses I do like below, because I think they are worth a purchase! Note: you’ll definitely need a slip for almost all of SHEIN’s dresses. They are quite see through!)
WHAT I WATCHED
Another Life: I have told so many people to watch this show!! It’s a Netflix original that I hadn’t heard anything about but randomly decided to watch it. I normally don’t love sci-fi type shows, but this one is really good! Yes, it’s a show based in space but it’s more than that! It’s also super easy to watch and get through so add it to your list for sure!
The Righteous Gemstones: Have y’all started watching The Righteous Gemstones on HBO yet?! It just came out on August 17th and the first episode was already super hilarious! Fun fact: It was filmed right here in Charleston! It’s been fun seeing all of the recognizable spots around town on the show! I can’t wait to see where they film at in the upcoming episodes!

EXPLORING CHARLESTON
Mellow Mushroom: Obviously this wasn’t my first time eating Mellow Mushroom, but it was my first time at the downtown Charleston location! I normally am just a cheese pizza kind of girl, but I stepped out of my box and tried a pineapple and mushroom pizza! It was soooo good and now I’m craving their pizza as I type this!

Shein is very hit or miss for me!! I usually have the best luck with sweaters there so I would try again when you’re ready to purchase some of those!

It sounds like August was a really great month for you. Jealous you got to see the Jonas Brothers – TWICE. I couldn’t even afford to see them once haha. It would be amazing to get to see them one day!

Yesssss the Righteous Gemstones is HILARIOUS! My husband and I love John Goodman so of course we have to watch it. And Danny McBride is always hilarious. Love that you went to two Jonas Brothers concerts. I haven’t done that in awhile, but I used to follow my favorite bands to two or three different venues.
It’s so fun!!

Shein is SUCH a hit or miss but sometimes there are some hidden gems! I agree with Morgan, sweaters are usually pretty decent there.

Shein is hit or miss for me too. I’m tall so a lot of the times pieces aren’t long enough. So glad I got to see you at #TBScon!
