A Day Trip to Beaufort

03/20/2019

With the last couple of weeks being rather busy, I haven’t had as much time to travel! Which is why I’ve been trying to take more day trips to the fun cities around Charleston. First up on my list: Beaufort, South Carolina! I was shocked at how charming this little town is. Every corner was beautiful and so inviting. My friend, Mimi, and I had the best time relaxing and enjoying our little day trip. We were already talking about what we will do on our next visit! Check out what we did below!

WHERE TO EAT

Lowcountry Produce Market & Café: I was really looking forward to going here because it is an Instagrammer’s heaven. Our food was great but the decor and ambiance took the cake for me. Definitely add this to your list!

The Chocolate Tree: This is chocolate heaven y’all. Not only is their staff so sweet, but so is their chocolate. It was so hard not to walk away with everything.

Common Ground: After walking around all day, we stopped for a quick rest at Common Ground. It was so nice to sit on their patio with a gorgeous view of the water!

WHAT TO DO

Shopping: Bay Street has all of Beaufort’s shopping including Scout Southern Market, Lulu Burgess, and the cutest book store called McIntosh Book Shoppe.

Rent bikes: Something we didn’t do but definitely will next time is rent bikes! Just like Charleston, the town is very bike friendly!

Take a stroll: The best way to see this town is on foot. We loved looking at all of the gorgeous houses, especially this one above with the perfect pink door! The Old Point neighborhood is a great place to start.

Drive over to St. Helena Island: Towards the end of the day, we decided to take a drive over to St. Helena Island to see the Hunting Island Lighthouse. If you head this way, I definitely recommend stopping at Superior Coffee! It is the cutest little coffee shop with some fun shopping.

Thank you for your wonderful post. Beaufort captured our hearts and it’s now our Southern home away from home. Id just like to add that the people here are kind and friendly and I love our Marine Corp air base giving us a low roar now and then…..the sound of freedom!

Looks like such a quaint town! Would love to visit on a mild tempered spring weekend soon as it wouldn’t be a far drive for me!
