Where to Stay in Charleston: Post House Inn

Where to Stay in Charleston: Post House Inn

The Post House Inn is an absolute dream of a place to stay, to say the least. From the vintage decor to the delicious food, every little bit of my stay was perfection. The Post House Inn is located in the beautiful Old Village of Mount Pleasant and has 7 cozy rooms. It’s just a quick drive from downtown and only a few blocks away from a gorgeous water view. The 1896 home is full of history and has become a neighborhood go-to spot throughout the year since it was renovated and reopened, so I was incredibly excited to visit for the first time.

The thing I loved most about Post House Inn was how quiet and homey it was. I didn’t have to worry about any loud neighbors or street noises and had a great night’s sleep. All of the little touches, from the rotary blue phone to the keys, made the room complete. I was able to peek into a few of the rooms throughout the inn and let me just say, no matter what room you book, you will not be disappointed. Some rooms have intricate wallpaper and others large sunfilled windows (scroll down to see a glimpse at this room). No two rooms are alike and each has its own personality.

I was able to grab dinner at their in-house restaurant during my stay and it is definitely a spot I will return to. I ordered the Crispy Brussels Sprouts as a starter and the Crispy Butterbean Burger (yes, they have a veggie burger) for dinner. It was honestly one of the best meals I’ve had in Charleston and totally worth a visit even if you’re a local. I also had breakfast out on the patio one morning with a cup of Joe which was so relaxing and a great way to start the day.

The good news is, if you’re unable to dine at the restaurant, there are plenty of places nearby and even within walking distance to experience. If I can give you one recommendation while staying at Post House Inn it would be to make sure to carve out some time to take a stroll around the neighborhood and see the historic homes and oak-covered streets. It is Charleston’s charm to a T.

I’ve already been recommending this place left and right to friends and family who are interested in visiting and can’t wait to visit again soon. Whether you’re on vacation or looking for a relaxing weekend right down the street, check out Post House Inn and you will not be disappointed!

I was gifted a stay at Post House Inn in exchange for a review. All views and opinions are, as always, my own!
