August 2020 Recap
Here’s a little August recap! Sharing what I bought, what I watched, and a few favorites here and there.
HIGHLIGHTS
We are continuing to stay home in hopes to do our part to stop COVID19, but was also able to have some really nice family time this month! (We have only been exposed to each other during this time.) We celebrated my mom’s birthday with a nice pool day and lots of cake!
WHAT I BOUGHT
WHAT I WATCHED
42: With Chadwick Boseman’s passing, we were introduced to this 2013 film about Jackie Robinson’s life. It was by far the best thing we watched in the entire month. Of course, Chadwick Boseman’s performance was incredible, but Jackie Robinson’s story itself is also so inspiring and deserves to be heard.
Work It: Y’all know I’d watch just about anything so I was very excited when I heard Netflix would be coming out with a new rom-com! I don’t know if I would give this one a full 5 stars, but it was definitely cute and easy to put on in the background while I was working.

EXPLORING CHARLESTON
Boho Rosa: My mom and I were treated to a quick little staycation at one of Charleston’s cutest Airbnb’s, Boho Rosa! I’ve shared a few things on my Instagram already but will be posting a full recap to the blog real soon! Stay tuned!
The Cake Stand Charleston: Since we were celebrating my mom’s birthday, we HAD to get some cake! My dad found The Cake Stand and let’s just say it’s our new go-to bakery! The cake itself was amazing, but the design was beautiful, as well!
Hotel Emeline: A group of local influencers and I were given a tour last month of the brand new and absolutely stunning Hotel Emeline! Located in the heart of downtown, Emeline is perfectly decorated and the best spot to get away to if you are visiting Charleston. Not to mention their in-house restaurant, Frannie and The Fox, is amazing and totally worth a visit!

Chadwick’s passing hit me harder than I ever expected. His work truly changed my life over the past few years. I need to do a marathon of all his movies soon in honor of him. I actually loved Work It. Primarily because Jordan Fisher is a cutie – and he liked my tweet sooo that’s cool haha. I hope September is really nice for you!
