January 2020 Recap

Here’s a little January recap! Sharing what I did, what I bought, and a few favorites here and there.

 

HIGHLIGHTS

If you haven’t noticed, I’ve been a little quiet over here on the blog recently. Well, that’s because I moved! At the end of January, I packed up all my things and moved a little bit closer to home in James Island. I’ve always really loved James Island and I’m so happy an opportunity opened up and I was able to move here! Plus my commute to and from work has now been cut in half (really more than half!). I can’t complain with a 15-minute drive to the office!

WHAT I WATCHED

I was even more interested in all of the murder mysteries this month than I normally am and that’s all thanks to two Netflix series that came out in January – Don’t F**k With Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer and Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez. Both were so good. I was seriously on the edge of my seat the entire time watching Don’t F**k With Cats. I didn’t know much about Aaron Hernandez prior to watching the docu-series, but it was all very interesting. Have you seen either? Let’s chat about them!

EXPLORING CHARLESTON

Boxcar Betty’s: This spot has been on my list for a while now, but as a vegetarian, I didn’t think there would be anything on the menu I could order. However, there is! All of their sandwiches can be ordered with portobello mushroom as opposed to chicken. Be sure to order their pecan pie in a cup – I’m still dreaming about it!

Coquin: This adorable little wine bar was the perfect spot for a night out with some of my favorite gals! We ordered a few glasses of rosé, a few tapas, and really had the best time! I will definitely keep this spot in mind when friends come into town and for girls nights.

    Such a great month! Don’t F*ck with Cats and the Aaron Hernandez documentary were both really good. ALTHOUGH, I do have to say – Since I’m from Boston, the case was so heavily covered here that I felt like I knew a lot about the case from what was in the news. Especially with it not being that long ago! But, there were some very interesting things I didn’t know that the documentary covered which was cool.

    Don’t F*uck With Cats is in my que right now. I’m just wow it g for my hubs to get home from work congénere so we can see it together. Also, that wine bar sounds right up my alley
