December 2019 Recap
Here’s a little December recap! Sharing what I did, where I went, and a few favorites here and there.
HIGHLIGHTS
December was reserved for doing all of the festive things! My sweet friend, Jillian, hosted the cutest cookie exchange – my first ever! My sister and I tried all of the holiday flavors at Off Track Ice Cream. We all watched countless holiday movies. And finally, we got to see my sweet nephew enjoy his second Christmas! I don’t think he really knew what was going on, but it was still so fun to spoil him. I hope you all had a lovely holiday!
I also introduced my new hillheady hashtag, #twirllikehill! Apparently, I have this thing for twirling and I love it when y’all upload you’re own twirling shots! So I created #twirllikehill for all of your twirling photos! Check them out here and show me your twirls!!
WHERE I WENT
Charlotte, North Carolina: At the beginning of the month, I took a quick trip to Charlotte to visit my client, Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel! The hotel is beautiful and it was so great to be able to visit Charlotte for the second time. It’s such a fun city and I hope to be able to visit in the new year.
Asheville, North Carolina: Later in the month, I went back to North Carolina for our family reunion in Asheville! Every December, we all get together to spend time together and exchange secret Santa gifts. We rented a big home for the family to stay at and had a great time watching Christmas movies and exploring Asheville. P.S. If you’re vacationing to Asheville soon, definitely add Flora to your list! It’s the cutest!
WHAT I BOUGHT
December was mostly spent buying gifts for my family and friends but, of course, that didn’t stop me from treating myself!
WHAT I WATCHED
Little Women: I have been counting down the days for this and boy did she not disappoint. I laughed. I cried. I cried again. Little Women was absolute magic and you all MUST see it. This movie is incredible and was executed so beautifully. I can’t wait to see it again!
The Goldfinch: This movie has also been on my list for a while! I’m a huge Ansel Elgort fan and, of course, I love Finn Wolfhard (thanks to my Stranger Things obsession) so I knew this was my kind of movie. I had no idea what the storyline was going to be prior to watching, but the entire movie was so unique and had me on the edge of my seat. I loved it!
WHAT I’M LISTENING TO
Adore You by Harry Styles (but honestly I’ve had the entire new Harry Styles album on repeat)
EXPLORING CHARLESTON
Harken: I have been obsessed with The Harbinger since I moved to Charleston almost 3 years ago so you can imagine my excitement when I found out they were creating a sister cafe called Harken. Even better, it’s a quick 5-minute walk from my office. I went here too many times in December and let’s be honest, I’ve probably been again since you started reading this post, but it’s the best! They also always make me step out of my box – my first visit, I got an avocado coffee cake and I recently ordered an oatmeal apricot cookie. Both so magical.
Le Farfalle: And now say hello to my new favorite Italian spot. I made two visits to Le Farfalle this month and I’m already thinking about my next meal. It is a must-add to your Charleston food bucket list.
