HILLOWEEN: Mary Poppins Costume
My third Hilloween costume is here!! After seeing the new Mary Poppins movie last year, I knew this had to be one of my costumes! Lucky for me, I had almost everything for this look right there in my closet!
Everyone has a white button-down and a black skirt, but of course, I had to add a little flare to the look with a black tutu! Next up, the perfect coat. I loved this one because even though Mary wears a blue coat, the burgundy matched really nicely with the red bow tie. There’s nothing wrong with making a costume your own right?! My coat is old, but I found this similar one that would complete the look! Speaking of that red bow tie, this was one of the only items I didn’t have and because it is so iconic, I wanted to make sure I got it just right! Thankfully, this one from Amazon was a perfect match! If you’re really stretched on time, just use some red ribbon and tie a pretty bow.
And finally, add the finishing touches with accessories. I also didn’t have a great bag like in the movie, so I quickly grabbed this one from Amazon. Any umbrella will work for this costume, but if you’d like to go the extra mile, I suggest buying this one that looks exactly like the real one!
