The Blog Societies Conference Recap

The Blog Societies Conference Recap

I attended my second Blog Societies Conference!! And once again, I learned SO much. I love this conference y’all and can’t recommend it more for bloggers who are looking to improve their business! I went last year and it was so inspiring that I knew I had to come again this year. The reason I love this conference so much is because there are no secrets. The founders, Cathy and Jessica, are so transparent and tell it exactly how it is, which is really rare in the blogging community. The speakers and workshop teachers are well thought out and very knowledgeable in their field. Even though I attended last year, I still learned so many new things because the blogging world is constantly changing everyday.

So…. What is the Blog Societies?

The Blog Societies is a cultivated community for influencers to unlock the resources, connections and tools necessary to grow their blogs. I’ve been a member for about a year now and I’ve really enjoyed connecting with so many other bloggers! The group of women are amazing and really want to succeed while still supporting one another. With the membership, you are able to attend The Blog Societies Conference, where you learn loads of information on how to improve your blog and more!

I received a lot of questions from fellow bloggers on whether this conference was worth it and my answer is 100% yes. It’s one of the most affordable conferences I’ve seen out there and they purposely cap the conference at around 70 people to ensure you have the ability to connect with brands and learn in an intimate setting. Since I received so many questions, I wanted to give a quick recap of what we did each day!

Day One

This year’s conference was held at the beautiful Barnsley Resort! After arriving and checking in to our room, we attended the welcome party! This is probably one of my favorite parts of the conference because this is where we get to connect with brands and be introduced to some of their new products. Brand sponsors this year included Kendra Scott, Marc Fisher, Lisi Lerch, Grayson, La Croix, and Essie.

Day Two

The day began with a lovely breakfast hosted by La Croix in Barnsley Resort’s beautiful Historic Ruins! Lucky for us the weather was perfect – not too hot and not to cold – and the historic ruins were so cool! To get there, you walk through a beautiful garden which was the perfect way to start the day – pictures of this to come!

We then proceeded to our workshop classes! I’ve added my schedule below for y’all to get an idea of what I learned about. We were able to pick our classes for the conference – some of the other classes that I did not take were Pricing, Email Marketing, and Organization. We were later treated to lunch hosted by Marc Fisher and dinner hosted by Yankee Candle (you can imagine how amazing it smelled in that room!) The night ended with the cutest s’mores setup with all of the gals!

The Blog Societies Conference Schedule
– Workshop 1: Instagram Photography with Allie Provost
– Workshop 2: The Art Of Pitching with Erica Ligenza
– Workshop 3: Contracts For Creatives with Ashlee Hightower
– Workshop 4: SEO with Jessica Camerata
– Creative Breakout: Flower Arranging with Petal + Fold

Day Three

On our final day, we heard from three amazing speakers! First up, was Manu from Your Social Team. She discussed the importance of connecting with your audience on Instagram and utilizing all of the features the app offers for us. Next, we heard from Matt with Podia. Matt discussed how you can use your platform to offer your audience classes and workshops through Podia. Finally, we heard from Brittany of The Lawyer Lookbook. I heard Brittany speak last year about FTC guidelines and everything you need to know legal wise when it comes to blogging. I was excited to hear her speak again this year because last year’s was so helpful. And agian, she didn’t disappoint and provided so much valuable information!

With our last speaker finished, we said our goodbyes and hit the road back to Charleston! Again, I cannot recommend this conference more! While, of course, it’s a great business investment, it’s also fun to see all of your friends and meet people in real life that you’ve made a connection with online! I’m already looking forward to next year and can’t wait to see what the Blog Societies comes up with next!

Sounds like such a fun conference! I haven’t been to anything similar since Lucky FAAB and that was forever ago. Always so fun to connect with other bloggers, and I love that they keep it small.

I’ve been blogging for over 4 years and I’ve never gone to a blogger conference. I gotta make that happen at some point. This looks like such an awesome experience!
