I’ve added another new city to my list: Richmond, Virginia! I had never been to Richmond, and if I’m being completely honest, I didn’t exactly know what to expect. But I was pleasantly surprised by the unique and artsy little town! The restaurant and art scene is large and only growing. Richmond is putting itself on the map and it needs to be added to your list. Check out where we stayed, where we dined, and what exactly we did during our trip below!
WHERE TO STAY
The Jefferson Hotel: Built in 1895, The Jefferson Hotel is one of a kind and a true Richmond gem. My mouth dropped as I walked through the front doors to see an amazing colorful rotunda and guests enjoying afternoon tea. The glass ceilings made such an incredible statement and were the perfect welcome. This is definitely one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever been to! Not to mention the staff was very accommodating with valet parking, dinner recommendations, and simple hellos and goodbyes. Our room overlooked a great view of Richmond and was perfectly decorated. The coolest feature, however, was the wifi mirror in the bathroom! It had a tv right in the mirror so you could watch your favorite show while you’re getting ready! Take a peek at The Jefferson below!

WHERE TO EAT
Boulevard Burger and Brew: This little diner was my favorite spot we went to on the entire trip! Not only is the decor so cute but the food is really really good! I had the Veggie B’s which are vegan quinoa sliders! (Their vegetarian menu is amazing!)
Early Bird Biscuit: This was such a great recommendation from one of my friends! I’m drooling just thinking about this biscuit I had. Their space is so charming and it was the perfect day to sit outside and enjoy our breakfast!
Charm School Social Club: Another great recommendation from a friend! After spending the day in the heat, ice cream was just the thing we needed. Try the Chocolate Cookie flavor!
WHAT TO DO
Take a drive around The Fan district: I think we all know by now that I’m a sucker for a pretty bright and colorful building! I was so shocked at how many there actually were in Richmond! There are also really cool murals all over town showcasing the artistic culture of Richmond.
Halcyon Vintage Clothing: I always love visiting vintage shops in different towns to see the unique styles each city has to offer! Halcyon has some great picks! I specifically loved all of their bright and colorful prints. Definitely worth a visit!
Verdalina: This boutique has beautiful pieces and great brands to choose from! Their style is so chic and I basically wanted everything in the store.

Maymont Park: This Victorian estate is home to beautiful gardens, Maymont Mansion, wildlife exhibits, and more. The gardens have many beautiful water features like the one pictured below! I recommend visiting, but make sure to take a look at a map before entering and take note of which parking lot you’re in as we got a little lost!!
We were gifted a weekend stay at The Jefferson Hotel in exchange for a review. All views and opinions are my own!

I SO wish I’d known you were going to be here. I would’ve loved to meet up and show you some of my favorite places. But I will say you chose some great spots. Boulevard Burger & Brew make AMAZING burgers (and excellent sweet potato fries) and Charm School has some seriously yummy ice cream.

As a native RVA’er, believe me when I say you must come back!! We offer more than you possibly could have seen in just a day or two! Museums, class 1rapids in the James River, Carytown dining and shopping, and history spanning the beginning of our nation to the present. PS..plus the restaurant and roof top bar scene is killer;) So glad that you visited our city! We think she’s pretty special!!
