I have always tried to avoid regretful purchases and fashion dupes. Why you ask? I’m all for saving a buck or two… or in this case a couple hundred, but I truly believe in quality over quantity. Yes, I could probably buy about 5 dresses to equal the total of this one pictured above, but when I saw this DVF number, I knew it had to be mine! The style, the print, the quality – all worth it. My closet has started to grow smaller as I grow older, because I am becoming more aware of who and where I buy from. I saved and saved for many of the higher price tag items I own and this waiting game really allowed me to think about my purchases as opposed to making spur of the moment buys. Now of course, I could write this post about how you should invest in good denim, good shoes, etc., but I wanted to share some actual items I have in my closet that I have used first hand. The first items listed below are the exact items I own and love followed by similar colors or styles.
Gucci Mules: The infamous. These are probably my all . time . favorite . purchase . 100% worth the buy. The comfiest shoes and I wear them everywhere! I will say, mine do need a good clean, but that’s just because we’ve been through a lot together. If you are debating whether or not to buy these, I am on board with this purchase! I have a few other pairs of Gucci shoes (my favorite brand!) and all are very comfy and great quality.
Chloe Faye: Believe it or not, this was a bit of a spur of the moment buy…. It was a “yay, I quit my job!” purchase. All the reason to shop right?! I’m too afraid to use it 24/7, so I use it about once a week and have dubbed it my “every now and then” bag. However, I love it! Marks and stains usually wipe right off which is a major plus!
Stella McCartney Wallet: In the past, when it came to wallets, I had a small card holder that barely held anything. I had never had a “big girl wallet” that had a special place for your ID and cards. Until now! No more rummaging through all of my monthly coffee shop punch cards (that of course only have one hole punch) and movie theater gift cards to find my driver’s license. This wallet now holds everything and then some! I also love the gorgeous color and design that is unique to the Stella McCartney brand.
Crap Eyewear Sunglasses: I normally would never spend this much on sunglasses, because I know myself. I drop them, I sit on them, I generally just cannot keep a pair in good condition. However, I really did love the shape and style of this pair and so far so good! Despite the unique name of this brand (lol), the pair is actually quite durable and I think they will be around for a while (knock on wood).

So much yes!!! I totally agree with investing in classics as opposed to buying cheap and replacing and replacing (aside from trends you know you’ll only wear for a season). I just threw out my first Lacoste polo, probably 10 years old, armpit stains, worn thin, but it was my first investment piece. And the fabric just feels so much better on my skin.
Cheers from Charleston!
