New York has been experiencing some crazy weather recently – one minute it’s sunny and 65 degrees and the next it’s windy and 22 degrees. I don’t know about y’all, but the rain and the snow has been putting me in a little bit of a rut. Therefore, it’s time to add a little bit of color and a little bit of happy to my life! Whether it’s icky and raining, a tough day at work, or a bad grade on a paper, I’m sure you could use this too! Here are 5 ways to add a little color to your life this month!
1. Splurge on those pair of shoes you’ve been eyeing for a few weeks! It’s just your luck that they’re still available in your size, so treat yourself! Retail therapy is a wonderful thing!
2. Bring some life into your home! I love having flowers and plants all over my apartment, even if they are a little dead… It always makes me so happy when I’m greeted by a beautiful bouquet of tulips after a long day of work!
3. Spice up your wardrobe! In a sea of black trench coats (aka all New Yorkers), stand out in a mint aviator jacket. (Yes I have one! Thanks ASOS!) Your mood will reflect how you feel/how you look.
4. Add some color to your workplace! Your most visited place other than your bed! This is where things may get stressful for you… so add a little motivational quote on your bulletin board! I personally went for a “you go girl” quote and a picture of Nick Saban (the ultimate bae).
5. And finally, my favorite one of all… try to find a positive in everything you do, even if it’s really really hard! Look to the future! So Alabama loses the National Championship? There’s always next year! (If I’m being honest, I’m still bitter!) So you missed that big promotion? There’s probably going to be another one soon! Work extra hard and show em’ what you got!! There’s always something to look forward to!
