5 Things I’m Currently Obsessed With in April
Because I’m always obsessing over something new each month, I’m filling y’all in on 5 of my current obsessions that I can’t stop thinking about every month!
1. Currently Binging: Outer Banks
We have been waiting so long for this to come out!! The new Netflix show (watch here) was filmed basically right in front of our house all last year! Yep, the show wasn’t actually filmed in the Outer Banks, but right here in Charleston. If you’ve seen the series, you know John B’s “shack” which is our neighbor’s house in real life. There are many other scenes that were filmed right in our neighborhood, too. It has been so fun to see our town on tv and can’t wait to continue to watch! I’ll be updating my Instagram Stories and sharing some other spots where they filmed, so be sure to follow along here.
2. Cooking and baking
Well, I’ve had lots of time on my hands with this quarantine, so I’ve been trying my hand at a little cooking and baking! The first recipe I tried out was this french toast casserole that was a definite 5 stars. We couldn’t believe how easy and amazing it was! It was even better the next day, too. I also made this ridiculously easy blueberry pie and can’t wait to share the final results on Instagram, so stay tuned! I think the next recipe I’ll be trying will be these banana and blueberry muffins since we have some leftover blueberries from when I made my pie. Have any recipes you think I should try out? Drop them in the comments below!
3. Currently Binging: Timeless
Another show we are currently binging is NBC’s Timeless. We are seriously obsessed!! Unfortunately, the show has since been canceled, but the two seasons are currently on Hulu here.
4. IGTV
I finally took the plunge and posted my very first IGTV! After years of being in front of the camera, I have to admit, being on video is still so scary to me. BUT I’m trying my best to step outside of my comfort zone and try new things, especially with all of this extra time we have. I have since uploaded a second video here and I am working on editing two more. I can’t wait for y’all to see them!
5. All the virtual happy hours!
While the current state of the world isn’t necessarily ideal, I feel like it has brought people together and given everyone a chance to catch up over FaceTime or Zoom! I’ve had lots of virtual happy hours with friends and definitely encourage you to plan one!!

We still need a virtual happy hour!!! And we have been watching Outer Banks too – obsessed! I just read an article about why it wasn’t filmed in Wilmington which is where it was planned to be shot and the hopes it might be for the second season – YAY second season haha. Cannot wait to see all your behind the scenes stories as I watch!
