I love traveling, but nothing beats a good ole staycation in my favorite city! I was so excited to have the opportunity to stay at the lovely Hotel Bella Grace a couple of weeks ago for my own overnight staycation! After a long, busy, and stressful week, this was exactly what I needed. Not only is Hotel Bella Grace decorated perfectly from head to toe, but the boutique inn has rooms with kitchens, as well as a personal concierge service with grocery shopping services making your stay the complete package. I was very impressed with the amazing amenities! And waking up to a gorgeous view of Charleston didn’t hurt. Of course, there are way more than 5 reasons for a staycation, but these are my top few!
- To escape from reality: It’s no secret traveling can be stressful. With a staycation, there’s no worrying about missing your flight, traffic, being in a city you don’t know, etc. Sit back, relax, and enjoy your vacation!
- To spend less time traveling: One thing that stinks about traveling is well… traveling. Staycations mean less time in the car or on a plane. However, if you forget your toothbrush or need extra clothes, you’re just down the street!
- To not have to extensively plan: As I said, staycations are all about relaxing. There’s no need to stress over an itinerary you feel like you have to stick to. Try being flexible. Sleep in and spend all day cozied up in bed!
- To save money: If you’re looking to cure your current travel bug but don’t want to break the bank, a staycation is a perfect compromise!
- To explore your own city: This is your perfect chance to try out that new restaurant that’s been on your list! One of my favorite things to do in Charleston is being a tourist. Hotel Bella Grace was the perfect choice for my staycation because it was in a great location and just minutes from some fun shopping and yummy restaurants!

When you live in such a beautiful city, it seems silly not to enjoy it, and when you are saving money on flights, you’ve got more chances to splurge on your hotel and activities while you are staycationing.
