4 Reasons to Visit Charleston

02/11/2019

Charleston has been my home now for just over a year. I love every little corner of it and can’t imagine myself living anywhere else! Even though there are far more reasons than just 4, here are my top few reasons why you should visit the Lowcountry! You’ll be planning your next visit by the end of this post. See you soon!

  1. All of the colorful walls: Almost every street in Charleston is perfectly painted with bright colors and the most Instagrammable spots – a blogger’s dream! For example, I found this spot on a random back road downtown behind a realtor’s office! This city is so charming even it’s office parking lots are adorable.
  2. The food: I thought I would miss all of the food when I moved from New York to Charleston but I was wrong! Charleston is the perfect town for foodies. There are always new restaurants opening to try and I haven’t even come close to visiting all of them. Follow my foodie adventures on my food account, @anotherlittlepizzamyheart!
  3. You’re just minutes away from the beach: While I’m not a huge beach fan, I know I am part of the minority here and that everyone loves a beach vacation! With Charleston, you get the best of both worlds – city and beach town.
  4. The homes are beautiful: One of my favorite things to do in Charleston is to just walk around town admiring the amazing homes. My mom and I have done a few tours of the historic homes and it has really been a highlight of living here. We toured one home that had a chandelier from the movie Gone with the Wind!! Each home has a unique story and we’ve loved seeing the different designs and decor from throughout the years.

Charleston isn’t that far of a drive from Richmond, and yet I’ve never visited. I used to pass through with my family on road trips, but never stayed – and certainly not as an adult. It’s been on my bucket list for years to have a girls’ weekend there. I hope I get to make that happen soon!
