My mom and I recently went to Augusta, Georgia for a quick and fun overnight trip! Being from Atlanta, I had been to Augusta once before and have heard many great things due to The Masters! So I was really excited to explore a new town and create a little guide for you all! (Because you can definitely do a day trip if you’re coming from Charleston!) I had no idea how artsy and cool this little town is. My mom and I were able to chat with some locals about why they love Augusta so much and it’s really booming and up and coming! Check out what we did during our 24-hour trip below!
WHERE WE STAYED
The Partridge Inn: We had a great visit at the historic Patridge Inn which is known as “The Grand Hotel of the Classic South”! The house was originally built in 1836 and even though it has been renovated, the old charm is still seen throughout the hotel. They have hosted celebrities and guests/golfers for The Masters plus many weddings and events. The decor is beautiful and the rooms are so cozy with amazing balconies – a definite plus for this photo obsessed gal!
WHERE WE ATE
P.I. Bar and Grill: Located in The Partridge Inn is the award-winning P.I. Bar and Grill. We ate dinner and breakfast here and both meals were wonderful! Our favorite part of the trip (that we still talk about!) was probably the musician playing during dinner. We learned the restaurant does jazz night every Friday and she was truly amazing! Definitely a highlight of the whole trip! (P.S. If you go here for dinner, definitely order the Truffle Parmesan Potato Chips!)
New Moon Cafe: Before heading back to Charleston, we grabbed a light lunch at the trendy New Moon Cafe! This place had some great vibes, great coffee, and great food. I’m in love with avocado toast but I’ve never been a siracha kind of gal… until now! My mom got The Downtown Mess Augusta Style which she said was so yummy and the perfect southern breakfast dish! I will definitely return here during my next visit!
WHAT WE DID
Morris Museum of Art: I love visiting museums in different cities and I’m so happy the Morris Museum of Art was on our itinerary as it is the oldest museum in the country dedicated to the art and artists of the American South. We had a lovely private tour exploring abstract art, southern landscapes, impressionist art, and so much more. The museum always has new and exciting exhibits and my mom and I learned so much!!
Final Cut: I was most excited about this part of the trip! I had heard so many amazing things about Final Cut, which is an Anthropologie, Free People, and Urban Outfitters outlet store. Yes, it’s as amazing as it sounds and worth a trip to Augusta for. I bought so many amazing pieces at an insane price – almost all items were more than half off! Follow @finalcutgeorgia to see what they currently have in stock!
We were gifted an overnight stay at The Partridge Inn + meals and experiences from Pineapple PR in exchange for a review. All views and opinions are my own!
